Welcome to magazine THE BIG NEWS... In case anyone missed it, England did not win the world cup though it’s safe to say the feel-good factor was felt by all and dare we say it, things could be looking good for the future of English football. The summer heatwave continues which has shown a slight change in buyer activity with more people happy to view properties early to mid-evenings in the week, a service that we offer all our clients. The local market is in a similar condition as to the regional market which appears to be that while prices have softened and the uncertainty around Brexit does not appear to want to move away, the demand for property as always continues to prop up Greater London prices and with interest rates still being low, meaning borrowing money is affordable, there are still plenty of good buyers all be it they are treading more cautiously than they have in a while. With government help to buy schemes continuing to support First Time Buyers, the entry level point of the market is now more balanced between owner occupiers and investors where as in previous years, this was dominated by landlords. The government has also been taking steps to bring in a 3-year minimum tenancy agreement to give tenants a sense of stability and security though it is yet unclear if this is going to happen and if it does, will it scare off buy-to-let investors. NEW CHALLENGES... While Stones Residential is not immune to the market changes, we are a family-run business with a solid reputation and client base. The newset challenges may damage some of our weaker competitors and in turn raise the standards of the industry, as agents learn to improve their service to survive. At Stones Residential, we continue to offer a tailored and personable service that engages with our community, while we will remain prepared for challenges and willing and able to adapt.
