On 2nd March, Red Sparrow will be released starring none other than Jennifer Lawrence. The thriller film, depicts themes of courage and determination and will have you on the edge of your seat. The film tells the story of ballerina Dominika Egorova, who is recruited to ‘Sparrow School’ a Russian intelligence service where she is forced to use her body as a weapon. But her first mission, targeting a CIA agent, threatens to unravel the security of both nations. It may sound like a demanding role, yet we think American actress Jennifer will do just fine. Having stormed into the industry, only a few years ago, the 27-year old’s films have grossed over $5.5 billion worldwide, and she was the highest-paid actress in the world in 2015 and 2016. In addition to this, the blonde beauty also appeared in Time’s 100 most influential people in the world in 2013 and Forbes Celebrity 100 in 2014 and 2016. During her childhood, Jennifer performed in church plays and school musicals and it wasn’t until she was 14, that she was spotted by a talent scout in New York City. The rest they say is history… Her most notable films include the X-Men series, Winter’s Bone in 2010, The Hunger Games series and American Hustle in 2013. However, she isn’t just known for her movies. Renowned as an advocate for feminism and gender equality, she is the founder of the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation, through which she supports various charitable organisations. She may have achieved more than most of us can only dream about but what are Jen’s dreams? “There are actresses who build themselves, and then there are actresses who are built by others. I want to build myself… I’d like to direct at some point. But I don’t know because 10 years ago I would have never imagined that I’d be here. So, in 10 years from now, I might be running a rodeo.” What’s more, it seems like Jen is a girl after our own heart. “I hate saying, “I like exercising.” I want to punch people who say that in the face. But it’s nice being in shape for a movie, because they basically do it all for you. It’s like “Here’s your trainer. This is what you can eat.” I don’t diet. I do exercise! But I don’t diet. You can’t work when you’re hungry, you know?” Also set for release later this year is X-Men: Dark Phoenix, a film where Jen stars alongside Jessica Chastain. The plot evolves as Jean Grey begins to develop incredible powers that corrupt and turn her into a Dark Phoenix. Now the X-Men will have to decide if the life of a team member is worth more than all the people living in the world. Catch Jen in Red Sparrow from 2nd March n Image credit: Shutterstock.com
